Sam Jaeger, Chesterton offensive lineman

There was a little mix-up with my physical, so I missed a few practices but it's all good now. The atmosphere's really cool. Everybody here has a passion for football.

Going to Camp Riley was a really humbling experience. It was really eye-opening and a lot of fun. They dressed me in a mini-skirt, which was kind of interesting. We taught (the kids there) how to dance.

Going to the (Indiana Football) Hall of Fame was really cool. I was able to see (team pictures of) the previous people from Chesterton who played in the game, Heath Cartwright, Adam Hutnick and one of my teammates now at Western (Michigan), Steve Ellingsen (from Crown Point).

I'm playing tackle and guard, wherever I can get in. I've been going against guys like (Lowell's Jeff) Barker and (Lake Central's Dan) Manick. They're going to Ball State and there's a guy going to Toledo so it's pretty cool going one on one with guys I'll be playing in college. The O-line's meshing really well. I'm pretty sure we're going to tear up the South D line.
