LOS ANGELES | "American Idol" hopeful Amy Davis of Lowell got to sit back and enjoy the show Tuesday night, as her 12 male competitors sang out for audience votes.
But at 7 tonight, it's 25-year-old Davis who takes the stage to perform live during the two-hour FOX broadcast of "American Idol Season 7," featuring all 12 of the female contestants.
Tonight, it's the votes of viewers who call in or text by cell phone that will determine whether Davis and others continue in the competition or if they are among the first performers eliminated during Thursday's one-hour live broadcast.
On Thursday, host Ryan Seacrest will announce the "how America voted" and two men and two women from the final 24 contestants will be sent home.
Although Davis, and a number of other finalists, weren't given much screen time during last week's Tuesday and Wednesday telecasts (which were compiled from taped footage from last year), fans were able to "officially" meet Davis this week via the FOX program's Web site.
Americanidol.com provided details of this season's narrowed down contestants, including Davis, who reported Patty Griffin and Brad Paisley as her favorite performing artist influences and listed her "talents" as "cleaning house, raising puppies and playing a little guitar."
