Times Staff Report
MERRILLVILLE | Two middle-aged men walked into the Package Store, 25 W. 80th Place, Merrillville, on Thursday night and robbed a clerk of an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
The two suspects, described as black men in their late 40s to early 50s, didn't display a gun but inferred they had guns in their pants pockets, police Detective Jim Bogner said.
One of the men passed a note to an employee stating, "I got a gun. All the money," Bogner said.
The employee proceeded to give the men all the money from the cash register.
The two men fled west on foot, Bogner said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Bogner at (219) 769-3722.
