BIOGRAPHY

Born Dec. 12, 1985.

Son of Bruce and Jill Nix of Lakes of the Four Seasons.

Brother to Kevin.

Grandson of Louise Nix of Brooksville, Fla., and Dave and Jeanette Johnson of Elkhart.

Likes to bowl, plays soccer.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Russell Nix is a 2004 graduate of Boone Grove High School. An honor student with a 4.484 grade point average, he represented his senior class as valedictorian. Nix was a member of National Honor Society, president of Student Council and captain of the math team. He logged volunteer hours by participating in Project Care. An athlete, Nix was a member and served as captain of the varsity track, soccer and bowling teams; the latter advanced to regional competition three consecutive years. Nix is named to Who's Who Among American High School Students. He will attend Purdue University in West Lafayette in the fall to major in engineering and is the recipient of a valedictorian academic success award. Nix also received the Kankakee Valley-REMC Operation Round-up, Elks Most Valuable Student and Porter County Farm Bureau scholarships. Additionally, he was presented with the Marathon Scholars Award and Amos B. Lantz Porter Township School Corp. Scholarship as well as the

Student Council Leadership Scholarship from Boone Grove. Nix works at Aurelio's Pizza, and is a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, both located in Winfield.

PERSONAL HEROES: "My parents. They've motivated me and given me the proper guidance. I respect the way they raised me. I think they did a perfect job of parenting."

FAVORITE BOOK/AUTHOR: "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings." "They are awesome stories, so much happens, you never get bored."

WHAT I DO FOR FUN: "I hang out with all my friends and play a lot of poker. I like to disc golf too."

PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW: "My car looks pink."
