Indiana State Archaeologist Bill Mangold will visit Indiana Dunes State Park, 1600 N. 25 East, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. He will be available to answer questions about archaeology and assist visitors in identifying objects they bring in.

All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast sponsored by Westville American Legion Post 21, 7 a.m. to noon at the hall. Menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage and beverage. Price is $4.75 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, $3.25 for children age 10 and younger, and no charge for preschoolers.

Poker run benefit for Joe White, Leroy's Hot Stuff, 333 W. U.S. 20. Donation is $10. Sign-up is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dart tournament at noon, and food and entertainment at 3 p.m. Performers will include Street Level, Tremor, Tommy Thompson, Super Natural and Chester Brown.

Open house of Hilltop's new community center and health center, 1-4 p.m., 454 S. College Ave, Valparaiso. This is open to the general public and is in conjunction with an open house at Alice's halfway house at 606 Brown Street, about two blocks from Hilltop.

Alterra Sterling House of Portage open house, 1:30 to 4 p.m., 3444 Swanson Road. Guests will celebrate the conclusion of National Assisted Living Week with an ice cream social, a grand prize drawing and entertainment by Bust the Clown and Good Time Cloggers.

"Cinemateca Hispanica Film Festival," which will explore the culture of the Hispanic world, will begin at 3 p.m. at Martin Luther King Cultural Center, 606 Freeman Ave. "Todo Sobre Mi Madre" will be shown at 3 p.m., "Tortilla Soup" at 5 p.m., "Como Agua Para Chocolate" at 7 p.m. and "Dance With Me" at 9 p.m. Sponsored by Valparaiso University.
