HAMMOND -- A car wash to benefit a participant in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's team in Training is planned for 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Sunday at Jimmy K's, 6949 Indianapolis Blvd. Megan Dines, a student at Purdue University Calumet, is joining the walk Aug. 31 in Virginia Beach, Va. Her goal is to raise $4,000 for the society, which helps find cures for leukemia and other blood-related cancers and to improve patients' lives. For information, call (219) 844-0965.
