HOBART -- Hobart Garden Club will meet at 6:30 tonight at the Maria Reiner Room of Krull Towers, 206 Main St. Flower pounding, a process that transfers the image of real flowers to fabric of paper, will be taught to members. For information, call (219) 947-2942.

CROWN POINT -- Lake County Amateur Radio Club's annual Dad's Day Hamfest and Computer Show will be at 8 a.m. Sunday at Lake County Fairgrounds Industrial Arts Building, 889 S. Court St. The indoor show features commercial vendors of new and used ham radio equipment, computer hardware and software, and an electronic and computer parts and equipment flea market. HOBART -- Kappa Klub Klassic Golf Outing hosted by Hobart Tri Kappa will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. June 28 at Duck Creek

Golf Course, 636 North 700 West. Co-ed teams are invited to participate in this year's "Chip for Charity." Entry fee is $50 which includes continental breakfast,

nine holes of golf, cart, lunch, door prizes and other awards for the longest drive and putt. Registration deadline is June 16. For information

CROWN POINT -- The Beta Xi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi will sell its homemade pies at the Taste of Crown Point on June 20. Slices of pie will be available at the sorority's booth from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the Old Courthouse lawn, South Main Street. For information, call (219) 663-9878.

LOWELL -- Appreciation Dance for Our Soldiers sponsored by the Persian Gulf Support Group and Lowell VFW Post 6841 will be at

7 p.m. June 28 at Lowell VFW Post 6841, 17401 Morse St. Chicago Blues Posse will be featured. There also will be a silent auction,

memory and tribute bracelets and T-shirts. Food will be available for purchase from the VFW Auxiliary. Cost is $10. All donations will be used

to help support military families and to purchase memory plaques, appreciation plaques and two monument plaques. For information, call

SCHERERVILLE -- Third annual Memorial and Poker Run sponsored by American Veterans Motorcycle Riders Association of Indiana

double. Event also will include food, pop, coffee and doughnuts, door prizes and pins. Proceeds will be presented by the Soldiers and
